My wife and I stayed overnight at the Chalet and that was pretty cool as well. A young male grizzly even wandered into camp the next morning! A very special place indeed.

Hi Doug,
This summer the shuttle is requiring reservations. You could make a reservation for the shuttle if you start at one of the visitor centers and just take the shuttle all the way back to the visitor center after you finish. My understanding is that the the shuttle will let you get on and off as you wish with the wristband that comes with your reservation. I don’t believe you can get on the shuttle without a reservation. You can read more information here.

Do you have updated info on the Glacier NP shuttle system? We would like to do this hike just as you have suggested, using the shuttle to return to our car at Logan Pass. However, use of the shuttle now requires a pre-reserved ‘day pass’ which will specify a specific shuttle boarding hour (e.g. from 8 to 9 am). It isn’t clear if the shuttle will pick up hikers like us at the Loop at an indeterminate time. Thanks in advance!
